Alexander Long was a United States Congressman from Ohio's Second District, serving from 1863 to 1865. He was also a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from Hamilton County from 1846 until 1850. Long was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania, in 1816 and died in Cincinnati in 1886. He lived at 353 John Street in the Cincinnati's West End, a location now in the path of a tangle of entrance and exit ramps between I-75 and Fort Washington Way.
