Starting in 1899, Cincinnati's Oakley neighborhood had a horse race track. It was at the current location of Brotherton Road, between Millsbrae and Verne. It closed in 1904 and was gradually redeveloped over the following thirty years. Legend has it that the numbering of the street names in that area correspond with the gate numbers of the old track.
